New Year's Checklist
A shorter list than before, partly because I haven't given myself time to work on it, partly because I'm trying to rein in my competing interests a smidge if anything.
- Get married. (And the stuff that goes with that--finding a venue, caterers or whatever, doing invitations, picking a last name, explaining family structure to my extended family, saving up a goodly chunk of money...)
- Pick a house, buy it and live in it. Settle in to the long haul of making it more efficient, more solid and as pleasant as possible to spend time in.
- Graduate.
- Start MRP.
- Eat less beef. And maybe just eat less.
- Learn to play the bones, maybe harmonica a bit, and snuffle around pawn shops or something to see if there's an old concertina going begging.
- Try Morris. I'm getting to be pretty close to sure I'm interested.
- Find ways to give back to the PSG.
- Keep finding chances to write fiction.
- Vote. And induce as many other people as possible to vote as well.
- Support my family, on all sides.
- Incrementally improve my bike, and get more active with the local cycling zealots.
- Sew more, and learn to do it better. Possibly in company.
- Play guitar a little more.
- Learn more old folk songs, both PSG favorites and surprises from elsewhere.
- Streamline my life. Dispense with a little more plastic, a little more packaging, a little more redundancy, a little more indulgence.
- Work up one halfway presentable CSS.
- Know Albany better.
- Slow down some.
